If August 2019 was an exciting month for the auto enthusiasts with important launches like Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki XL6, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, BMW 3 Series and Renault Triber, September 2019 is going to be no different. Volvo Cars India has already introduced its uber-premium XC90 Excellence Lounge, while Volkswagen has launched the Polo and Vento facelifts. Several other big players are expected to introduce new products or facelifts of the existing ones during the month.
While the Indian automobile industry is going through turbulent times right now, there is no halt to new introductions. Carmakers like Maruti Suzuki India, Hyundai Motor India and Renault are expected to launch either fresh products or facelifts in September 2019.
Below are some of the important vehicles that are expected to be launched in India in September 2019.
Maruti Suzuki S-Presso
Rumoured to be named as S-Presso, Maruti Suzuki India’s upcoming car might be launched in the country by September-end. Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will challenge Renault Kwid, which is expected to get a facelift this month. Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will reportedly feature a BS6-compliant 1.0-litre, three-cylinder K10B engine. Expect the upcoming S-Presso to be competitively priced to give a tough competition to Kwid.
Renault Kwid Facelift
Renault is expected to bring the facelift of Kwid, its most successful vehicle in India, this month. Renault Kwid facelift will take exterior design cues from City K-ZE electric vehicle, which was showcased at the 2019 Shanghai Motor Show. The interior features might be similar to the ones in the recently-launched Renault Triber. Renault Kwid facelift will challenge the upcoming Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and Maruti Suzuki Alto. Currently, Kwid is priced between Rs 2.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 4.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The facelift might be a tad bit expensive. The details will be revealed at the time of launch.
Hyundai Elantra Facelift
Hyundai has been one busy carmaker this year. It launched Venue in May 2019 and the compact SUV turned out to be a major success. Last month, the carmaker introduced Grand i10 Nios. Now, expectations are that Hyundai will drive in Elantra facelift in India this month. It will challenge the likes of Honda Civic, Skoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla Altis. The sedan will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant will probably be BS6-compliant. Hyundai Elantra is currently priced between Rs 13.82 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 20.05 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The price of facelift might be slightly higher than the present one.
